Questions and Answers

What types of materials can be cut with HGG machines?

Answer: These machines can process a wide range of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, and alloy steels. The cutting technology—plasma or oxy-fuel—is selected based on thickness and material type.

How accurate are the cuts from these machines?

Answer: HGG machines are engineered for extremely high tolerances, with dimensional accuracy of ±1 mm or better, and consistent repeatability even on complex multi-axis bevels.

Can these machines handle both short and long profiles?

Answer: Yes. Machine capacities vary, but many models are designed to handle profiles over 12 meters (40 ft) in length, with optional infeed/outfeed extensions available.

Are the machines easy to operate?

Answer: With advanced software and intuitive touch-panel interfaces, operators can run complex cutting programs with minimal training. Many systems feature automatic calibration, scanning, and error correction.

How do I choose between plasma and oxy-fuel cutting options?

Answer: Plasma is preferred for thinner materials and higher precision, while oxy-fuel excels in cutting very thick walls (up to 150 mm). Machine Matcher provides full consultation based on your specific use case.

Are there machines that can handle both pipe and beam profiles?

Answer: Yes. HGG offers hybrid machines that support round, square, and I-beam profiles. These are ideal for facilities working on diverse structural projects.

What is the setup time for these machines?

Answer: Initial installation and calibration typically takes 1–2 weeks, depending on the machine model. Software integration and operator training are included in the package offered through Machine Matcher.

How are these machines maintained?

Answer: Maintenance involves regular calibration, cleaning of cutting torches, and software updates. HGG systems are built for durability, and most models have built-in diagnostics to prevent downtime.
