Compliance & Safety Services for Roll Forming Machines — Full Guide

Introduction — Why Compliance & Safety Matter More Than Ever

Roll forming machines are powerful industrial systems involving motors, hydraulics, VFDs, cutters, and high-speed moving parts. Without proper safety checks and compliance documentation, factories face:

Unplanned downtime
Electrical hazards
Injuries on the shop floor
Insurance claim rejections
Fines for non-compliance
Equipment seizures during audits

Machine Matcher provides complete compliance & safety services to ensure your machine meets all electrical and operational safety requirements — whether it’s new, used, imported, or modified.

Below is the full breakdown of the compliance services available for roll forming machinery.

1. Electrical Safety Audit

A full top-to-bottom audit of the machine’s electrical systems, including:

What We Inspect

Panel wiring
Breaker sizes & segregation
Motor protection settings
VFD configuration
Grounding & bonding
Safety relay logic
Sensor wiring integrity
24VDC distribution
Emergency stop performance
Cabinet heat levels

What You Receive

A detailed written report
Risk classification (critical / high / medium / low)
Immediate safety recommendations
Compliance checklist for your country

This audit is required for CE, UKCA, UL, and OSHA-aligned operations.

2. Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) Documentation

Proper LOTO procedures prevent accidental machine start-up during servicing — a key requirement in many regions.

Included in Our LOTO Package

Machine-specific lockout steps
Main disconnection points
Hydraulic isolation procedure
Pneumatic isolation procedure
Electrical cabinet access rules
Visual tagging system
Printable lockout sheets for operators

LOTO protects maintenance teams from severe electrical and mechanical injuries.

3. Earthing / Grounding Tests

Poor grounding is the #1 cause of:

Sensor instability
Encoder drift
VFD noise
Random PLC faults
Electric shock hazard

We Test

Frame bonding resistance
Decoiler grounding
Run-out table grounding
Motor frame resistance
PE bar continuity
Single-point earthing design
Compliance with IEC/UL grounding values

You Receive

Full grounding test report
Recommended upgrades
Improved signal stability and machine safety

4. Panel Labelling (Safety & Wiring Labels)

Most imported machines have poor or missing labels.
We bring the panel up to international labelling standards.

We Add / Replace:

Breaker labels
Relay and contactor labels
Terminal block numbering
Wire ferrule numbers
Safety warning labels
Emergency stop signage
Machine data plate (voltage, power, current, fault level)

Proper labelling reduces troubleshooting time by 40–50% and improves safety for all technicians.

5. Cable Management Review

Messy or unsafe wiring increases electrical noise, creates shorts, and causes premature failures.

We Check:

Loose cables
Exposed conductors
Improper shielding
Motor cable routing
Encoder cable separation
Tight bend radius
Overloaded trunking
Missing ferrules
Incorrect cable glands

You Receive:

Cable routing map
Recommendations for rewiring
Safety risk analysis
Noise and interference reduction plan

Clean wiring = stable machine performance.

6. Emergency Stop & Interlock Testing

Your E-stop system must be dual-channel category 3/4 for CE/UKCA/OSHA.
Most cheap machines are not.

We Test:

Safety relay operation
Dual-channel E-stop loop integrity
Guard switch interlocks
Shear & cut-off areas
Cabinet door interlocks
Decoiler pinch-area switches
Feedback loop monitoring

Results You Get

Fault summary
Safety pass/fail report
Required corrective actions
Recommendations for full safety-circuit rewiring if needed

This is one of the most important safety services we provide.

7. Compliance to Regional Standards (CE, UL, UKCA)

Machine Matcher ensures compliance for:

CE (Europe)

Low Voltage Directive (LVD)
Machinery Directive
EMC Directive
Safety relays & hardware
Electrical documentation

UL (United States)

UL508A panel requirements
NFPA79 industrial machinery electrical standard
NEC compliance
Grounding & GFCI requirements

UKCA (United Kingdom)

Post-Brexit compliance
Updated safety markings
Technical file review
Risk assessment updates

What You Receive

Compliance checklist
Upgrade recommendations
Safety file documentation
Test results and certificates

We can also upgrade machines to meet the required standards (rewiring, breaker changes, safety relay installation).
