Key Areas and Cities Using Roll Forming Machines

1. Kinshasa – The capital and economic hub, most machines are installed here.

2. Lubumbashi – A mining city with industrial-scale construction projects.

3. Goma & Bukavu – Regional centers for development, increasingly using prefab structures.

4. Mbuji-Mayi – Growing demand for housing and basic infrastructure.

5. Kolwezi & Likasi – Areas with mining and logistics development.

Maintenance for Roll Forming Machines

Maintaining roll forming machines in DRC conditions involves:

• Daily cleaning to remove metal dust and debris

• Regular lubrication of bearings, chains, and rollers

• Monthly inspections of hydraulic systems, motors, and electrical components

• Re-aligning rollers every few months to avoid profile deformity

• Replacing worn rollers or tooling as needed to maintain output quality

• Firmware updates for modern PLC systems

Setup and Operation of Roll Forming Machines

Setup:

1. Level and anchor the machine on a concrete base.

2. Connect the machine to the correct power source (typically 380V, 3-phase).

3. Load the steel coil using a manual or hydraulic uncoiler.

4. Calibrate roller stations and profile dimensions.

5. Program the PLC system with profile length, batch size, and cutting parameters.

Operation:

• Start the machine via touchscreen or button panel

• Monitor coil feeding, roll forming, and cutting process

• Collect finished parts on the exit table or stacker

• Shut down safely and clean after each shift

Training is minimal with modern systems, and operators can usually be trained within a week.

Low and High Costs of Roll Forming Machines in the DRC

Prices vary based on automation level, brand, accessories, and country of origin.

Main Manufacturers of Roll Forming Machines in the DRC

While the DRC does not currently manufacture roll forming machines locally at scale, most machines in the country are imported from:

• China – High volume, cost-effective machines

• Turkey – Mid-range quality and support

• India – Budget-friendly and semi-automated models

• Europe – Premium quality with long-term durability

Buyers in DRC typically work with international sellers or agents who can provide installation and training support.
