Most Popular Roll Forming Machines in Bangladesh

As the construction, metalworking, and infrastructure industries in Bangladesh continue to expand rapidly, the demand for roll forming machines has increased significantly. These machines are vital for creating precise metal profiles used in roofing, wall cladding, purlins, trims, and more. In this blog, we’ll explore the most popular roll forming machines in Bangladesh, their specifications, profiles, industrial applications, pricing, setup, and operation. We’ll also cover maintenance tips, design standards, and how Machine Matcher can help buyers find the ideal solution tailored to their needs.

Main Cities and Areas in Bangladesh Using Roll Forming Machines

Dhaka – A hub for construction and prefabricated structure manufacturing.
Chittagong – Focused on port infrastructure, warehouses, and logistics centers.
Gazipur and Narayanganj – Major industrial zones for light engineering and steel fabrication.
Sylhet and Rajshahi – Emerging markets with growing residential and commercial construction sectors.

Typical Applications of Roll Forming Machines

Roofing and cladding panels
Purlins for steel frames
Rainwater systems (gutters and downpipes)
Cable trays and support channels
Door and window frames
Partition and ceiling profiles

Installation and Commissioning

Foundation Setup: Ensure a level and stable concrete base.
Machine Assembly: Align the decoiler, main forming station, and hydraulic units.
Electrical and PLC Setup: Install and program the PLC, connect sensors, motors, and hydraulic systems.
Trial Run and Calibration: Run test coils to calibrate cutting length, punch locations, and profile alignment.
Operator Training: Provide in-depth training on operation, safety, and basic maintenance.

Operation and Maintenance

Operation

Load coil into the decoiler
Adjust settings on the PLC interface
Start forming process and monitor the line
Collect finished profiles and inspect

Maintenance

Regularly grease chain drives and bearings
Check roller alignment and surface condition
Inspect hydraulic oil level and replace if dirty
Tighten loose bolts and monitor electrical panels
Clean machine surface and covers after every shift

Troubleshooting Issues

Uneven Profile Shape: Roller misalignment or worn-out rollers
Hydraulic Cutting Inaccuracy: Check valve pressure or blade wear
Material Jamming: Coil misfeeding or guide alignment issue
PLC Error Messages: Wiring issues or sensor miscommunication

Limitations of Roll Forming Machines

Fixed profile shapes unless adjustable tooling is used
Requires specific coil widths and thickness tolerances
High initial investment cost for custom profiles
Downtime during profile changeovers (if not automated)

Benefits of Roll Forming Machines

High-volume production with consistent quality
Low material waste due to precision cutting
Minimal labor requirement compared to manual forming
Ideal for mass production of standard profiles
Customization available for specific profile needs

International Price Range

Roofing Roll Forming Machines: $18,000 – $60,000
Purlin Machines: $30,000 – $90,000 (manual or automatic size-change types)
Gutter Machines: $15,000 – $40,000
Cable Tray Machines: $45,000 – $120,000
Door Frame Machines: $25,000 – $65,000

Prices vary depending on speed, automation, tooling complexity, and included accessories.

Main Manufacturers in Bangladesh

While many roll forming machines are imported from China, India, and Turkey, several local integrators and metalworking companies in Bangladesh also provide assembly, customization, and installation services.

Some known domestic fabricators offer:

Assembly and installation
Spare parts availability
On-site troubleshooting and training

Design Standards

Machines typically comply with CE, ISO 9001, and local electrical safety standards
Profile design follows industry norms for roofing, purlins, gutters, and tray systems
Tolerances usually ±1.5 mm for cutting and ±0.5 mm for profile shape
