Industries Using Roll Forming Machines in Mali

Construction Companies: The booming real estate and infrastructure sectors are the largest users of roofing and purlin machines.
Manufacturers of Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEBs): Use C and Z purlin machines and decking machines.
Metal Fabricators: Operate smaller roll formers for trim, ridge caps, and door frames.
Agricultural Sector: Uses machines to produce metal sheds and greenhouses.
Government and NGO Projects: Often require roofing and framing machines for schools, hospitals, and housing developments.

Key Cities and Areas Where Machines Are Used

Bamako: The capital city is the hub for construction and metal fabrication companies.
Sikasso: A growing city with agricultural and industrial development.
Kayes: Demand for warehouse and infrastructure development.
Ségou and Mopti: Regions seeing rural development projects involving roofing and structural steel.

Maintenance Requirements for Roll Forming Machines

Daily Checks: Lubricate bearings, inspect rollers for wear, and clean the machine.
Weekly Maintenance: Check gearbox oil, clean filters, and tighten chains.
Monthly Inspection: Calibrate sensors, inspect hydraulic fluid, and align cutting blades.
Annual Overhaul: Replace worn rollers, test motor function, and inspect the PLC system.

Regular maintenance helps extend machine life, improve product quality, and reduce downtime.

Main Manufacturers and Suppliers in Mali

Most machines used in Mali are imported from China, Turkey, and India. There are few local manufacturers, but local agents or resellers offer installation and support.

Some local fabricators assemble machines from imported parts, but for full-service solutions, buyers turn to international suppliers like those available through Machine Matcher.

Setup and Operation of Roll Forming Machines

Setup Steps:

Place machine on level foundation
Connect electrical and hydraulic lines
Install coil uncoiler and feeding system
Load coil and thread material through rollers
Program the PLC with profile length and quantity
Test run and calibrate alignment

Operation:

Start machine via HMI control
Material feeds through rollers
Profile is formed and cut automatically
Stacked manually or with optional stackers

Safety measures such as guards, emergency stops, and operator training are crucial for safe operation.
