Job Description: Roll Form Operator

Location: Buenos Aires

Full time

Position Overview: Set up and operate roll forming equipment to roll steel bars, angle, channel, etc. per customer specifications. Operate machinery by bending, punching or sawing of metal products as instructed. Operate all secondary equipment that is associated with the roll forming process.

  • Examine, inspect and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to order specifications.
  • Set-up tooling, program and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
  • Monitor machine cycles and operation to detect non-conformance.
  • Read and interpret rolling orders and production schedule to determine set-up specifications, work sequences and product dimensions.
  • Handle raw material with overhead crane and load roll forming machine with raw material.
  • Manipulate controls and observe dial indicators in order to monitor, adjust and regulate speeds of sections.
  • Keep work area(s) clean and organized.
  • Set distance points between rolls, guides, meters and stops, according to specifications.
  • Direct and train other rollers to change rolls, operate equipment, band and load/unload materials.
  • Work with co-workers to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Prepare material for shipment and verify delivered material matches order.
  • Lift raw materials, final products and items for shipment, manually or using overhead crane.
  • Understand, support and adhere to the company’s health and safety policies, programs and procedures by communicating and promoting health and safety awareness to co-workers.
  • Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
