Importing roll forming machines into Israel involves several key steps to ensure compliance with local regulations and standards. Here's a comprehensive guide to assist you through the process:

1. Understand Import Regulations and Standards

  • Standards Compliance: The Standards Institution of Israel (SII) is responsible for developing and enforcing standards for products in Israel. 2. Prepare Necessary Documentation

  • Commercial Invoice: This should include detailed information about the machinery, such as the name and address of the supplier, a full description of the goods, quantity, value, and terms of sale.
  • Bill of Lading: A document issued by the carrier detailing the shipment's contents and destination.
  • Packing List: Provides details about the packaging of the machinery, including dimensions and weight.
  • Certificate of Origin: Indicates the country where the machinery was manufactured. This may be required to determine eligibility for preferential tariff rates under trade agreements. GOV.UK

  • Payment of Duties and Taxes: Calculate and pay any applicable customs duties, purchase taxes, and Value Added Tax (VAT) as required by Israeli law.

4. Engage with Local Authorities and Experts

  • Customs Broker: Hiring a licensed customs broker can facilitate the import process, ensuring all regulations are met and documentation is correctly filed.
  • Importer of Record (IOR): If you do not have a legal entity in Israel, you may need to appoint an IOR to handle the importation on your behalf. The IOR is responsible for ensuring compliance with all local laws and regulations. Blackthorne IT

5. Stay Informed About Recent Reforms
