Used Roll Forming Machines for Industrial Expansion in Vietnam

Buy & Sell Pre-Owned Roll Forming Equipment with Structured, Risk-Managed Support

Vietnam is one of the most active manufacturing growth markets in Asia, with expanding industrial parks, export-driven production, and strong demand for steel fabrication, building components, and high-throughput metal processing. For many manufacturers, the fastest route to capacity growth is used roll forming equipment—roofing lines, purlin systems, structural profiles, and full production cells—purchased with the right inspection and transaction controls.

This page is built to help Vietnamese manufacturers (and overseas investors building capacity in Vietnam) buy smarter, reduce risk, and scale faster—while also helping equipment owners sell machines in Vietnam to serious buyers locally and internationally.

Why Vietnam Is a High-Potential Market for Used Roll Forming Equipment

Vietnam’s growth in construction and industrial fabrication is pulling demand for roll formed products—panels, purlins, structural profiles, and components used across warehouses, industrial buildings, infrastructure, and export-oriented manufacturing.

• Structural steel fabrication in Vietnam is projected to grow in the coming years (market growth forecasts published in early 2026).

• Vietnam’s construction market has been forecast to grow strongly (recent 2026 reporting).

• Vietnam’s port infrastructure supports high-volume import/export flows, with major hubs including Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon, Hai Phong, and Cai Mep.

For roll forming buyers, this matters because expanding fabrication and construction demand typically increases:

• Roofing & cladding production volume

• Structural framing and purlin demand

• Need for fast installation building systems

• Demand for local manufacturing vs imported finished components

Why Manufacturers Buy Used Roll Forming Machines in Vietnam

Faster expansion than buying new

New roll forming lines can involve long lead times, tooling approval cycles, and commissioning windows. Used machines can often be inspected, secured, shipped, and installed faster—especially when a facility needs production running quickly to meet contracts.

Lower CAPEX, faster ROI

Used equipment reduces the upfront capital hit, leaving more budget available for:

• Tooling refurbishment or additional tooling sets

• Coil handling upgrades (uncoilers, coil cars, slitters)

• Electrical integration, safety upgrades, automation retrofits

• Spare parts and maintenance program setup

Practical scaling for industrial parks

Vietnam’s industrial expansion often means new production space comes online quickly—used machines can be the difference between “space ready” and “output ready.”

Most Common Used Roll Forming Machines Purchased in Vietnam

1) Roofing & cladding panel lines

Typical used machine demand includes:

• Corrugated roof panels

• Trapezoidal / box rib panels

• Standing seam systems (varies by region/spec)

• Trim & flashing machines (ridge cap, gable trim, drip edge, etc.)

These lines are attractive because they can be put into production quickly and serve both domestic and export customers.

2) C & Z purlin systems and structural profiles

High-demand categories include:

• C/Z purlin roll formers (manual or automatic changeover)

• Heavy-gauge channel/structural profile lines

• Multi-profile systems for mixed product demand

3) Industrial profiles and custom sections

Vietnam’s industrial base also drives demand for:

• Cable tray profiles

• Strut channel / solar support profiles

• Warehouse racking sections

• Specialty custom profiles for OEM supply chains

4) Coil processing + supporting equipment

Many buyers look for complete cells, including:

• Uncoilers/decoilers, coil cars

• Levelers/straighteners

• Slitting lines or cut-to-length systems

• Stackers, run-out tables, bundling systems

Vietnam power requirements buyers must confirm (before pricing)

A common failure point in used-machine deals is electrical mismatch. Vietnam industrial sites commonly use three-phase 380V, 50Hz (confirm on the machine nameplate and your facility supply).

Before committing, verify:

• Supply voltage at your plant (and allowable tolerance)

• Total connected load (kW) and peak demand

• Motor specs, VFD/drive compatibility, transformer needs

• Control voltage (24VDC / 110VAC / 230VAC)

• Earthing/grounding standards and panel protection

If you’re importing a machine into Vietnam, plan a budget line for:

• Re-rating motors/drives (if required)

• Rewiring to local standards

• Safety relay upgrades, guarding, interlocks

• Documentation and labeling updates

Typical pricing for used roll forming equipment in Vietnam

Used pricing varies heavily by:

• Machine condition and maintenance history

• Brand/OEM, stand count, gauge range

• Line speed and automation level

• Included tooling sets (value can be significant)

• Coil handling equipment included (or not)

General market bands (indicative only):

• Entry roofing line: often the most accessible category

• Mid-range production systems: better speed/consistency, stronger resale

• Heavy structural lines: higher capex, higher install demands

• Automated high-output lines: premium pricing, premium inspection required

The key is not “cheap vs expensive”—it’s condition vs cost-to-commission.

The inspection process that prevents expensive mistakes

If you want industrial expansion without surprises, inspection is where you win.

1) Confirm the machine can actually make the profile

Ask for:

• Profile drawing(s) with tolerances

• A full tooling list (how many sets? what condition?)

• Sample parts produced recently (if available)

2) Mechanical condition checks

• Frame straightness and base integrity (cracks, distortion, fatigue)

• Shaft condition (runout), roller wear, spacer wear

• Bearing noise/heat, gearbox backlash

• Entry guiding and alignment points (misalignment = scrap)

3) Electrical & controls checks (high risk area)

• PLC/HMI condition, backups available?

• Drives/VFDs, servo systems, encoders

• E-stops, interlocks, guarding circuits

• Panel cleanliness, heat damage, wiring quality

4) Hydraulic/pneumatic checks

• Leaks, pressure stability, valve condition

• Cut repeatability, cycle timing

• Blade condition and shear alignment

5) Live production test (non-negotiable)

Best practice is to run:

• The exact material grade and thickness you’ll use

• Multiple lengths (short/long)

• Speed ramp test (slow → target speed)

• Cut accuracy check across several parts

If you can’t attend in person, demand:

• Full-length video from coil loading to stacking

• Close-up video of the profile geometry and cut

• Measurements captured on video

Importing used roll forming machines into Vietnam

Vietnam’s port network is a major advantage for equipment import. Common industrial cargo flows route through major hubs in the north and south, including Hai Phong and southern port systems serving Ho Chi Minh City and the wider region.

When importing:

• Confirm packing method (container vs flat rack)

• Confirm lashing/sea-fastening responsibility

• Ensure correct shipping marks and documentation

• Budget for inland transport to industrial parks (route planning matters)

• Arrange marine insurance properly (don’t skip this)

Selling used roll forming machines in Vietnam

Vietnam is not only a buyer market—it’s also a high-conversion resale market when listings are professional and technically credible.

If you’re selling a machine in Vietnam (or selling into Vietnam from overseas), the sales levers are:

• Complete technical specifications + clear photos/video

• Proof of production capability (samples, test runs)

• Clear scope (what’s included: tooling, uncoiler, stacker, spare parts)

• Transparent condition statement (what needs work, what doesn’t)

• Fast response handling + technical screening of buyers

How Machine Matcher helps buyers and sellers in Vietnam

For buyers (industrial expansion support)

• Source suitable machines faster

• Technical screening before time is wasted

• Inspection coordination (local or remote verification)

• Documentation and scope clarity to reduce dispute risk

• Guidance on electrical/power compatibility and commissioning planning

For sellers (sell faster, with better buyers)

• Professional listing and positioning

• Global reach and direct exposure to manufacturing buyers

• Buyer screening and technical Q&A handling

• Structured deal support (inspection → negotiation → payment → shipping)

Important: your listing is free—commission is paid by the buyer only when the machine sells (success-based). This keeps sellers motivated and removes upfront friction.

Refurbishment vs selling as-is in Vietnam

Sell as-is when:

• The machine is operational and demonstrable

• Buyers can handle retrofit locally

• Speed-to-sale is priority

• Tooling condition is fair and transparent

Refurbish when:

• Controls are outdated and are blocking buyer confidence

• Safety guarding is poor or missing

• Tooling needs reconditioning to meet tolerance

• Cosmetics are harming perceived value (common in export markets)

The correct approach is the one that improves net return after refurbishment cost—not just a higher asking price.
