Slip-On Flange and Pipe Fast Fitting-Up Machine SFFUM (DN400-1600) | Qianshan, Shanghai, China
The SFFUM is a fitting-up machine built specifically for slip-on flanges and straight pipe. It positions the flange on the pipe and holds it in place for tack welding, so the two can then go to the automatic welding station. It is intended for standard wall thickness piping and is offered in five sizes, from the SFFUM-16Aa (DN400) to the SFFUM-64Aa (DN1600).
The machine clamps the outside of the workpiece with a 3-jaw chuck and rotates it on a slewing bearing. It moves up, down, left, and right using electric motors, and double supporting travelling trolleys carry the pipe. An aluminium alloy control box is used to operate it. The pipe is supported on a bracket system and a track, with a 7.5m square-steel track as standard.
Qianshan says the machine increases the efficiency and quality of pipe and flange fit-up, and that it requires fewer skills and reduces the difficulty of the work for operators.
Why Choose a Dedicated Flange Fit-Up Machine?
Fitting flanges to pipe by hand needs skill to hold the flange square, concentric, and at the right position, and errors show up later as weld defects or flanges that won't bolt up. A dedicated machine holds the alignment mechanically.
- Less skill needed. The machine positions and holds the flange, so operators need fewer fitting skills.
- Better alignment. A 3-jaw chuck and slewing bearing hold and rotate the workpiece accurately.
- Faster. Qianshan claims up to 10 times the efficiency (the comparison isn't specified).
- Motorised. Electric lifting and lengthwise movement reduce manual handling.
- Large pipe capability. Up to DN1600, with pipe up to 6m long.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does this machine do?
It fits up a slip-on flange to straight pipe and holds it for tack welding.
What pipe sizes does it handle?
Five models covering DN400, DN600, DN800, DN1200, and DN1600, with pipe up to 6m long.
What wall thicknesses is it for?
Qianshan says it is used for standard wall thickness piping.
How is the workpiece held?
By a 3-jaw chuck clamping the outside of the workpiece, rotating on a slewing bearing.
Is it motorised?
Movement up, down, left, and right is electric, and lengthwise movement of the fitting-up system is motorised on a linear guide rail. Clamping is manual by screw.
Can the track length be changed?
Yes. The track is 7.5m as standard, or as required.
What comes next in the process?
The fitted-up pipe and flange go on to welding, such as Qianshan's automatic pipe and flange welding machines.
Is financing or staged payment available?
Yes. A deposit secures your order and begins production, with the remaining balance due only once your machine has been built, inspected, and is ready to ship.
Should I buy new or used?
This machine is available new, built to order.
