Jinbolida Strip Accumulator – Non-Stop Strip Feeding During Coil Changes

The Jinbolida Strip Accumulator stores a buffer of steel strip in a controlled loop between the uncoiler and the forming machine. When the uncoiler stops to change coils, or while the end of one coil is welded to the start of the next, the stored strip continues to feed the line, so the forming machine doesn't have to stop. The accumulator also provides constant-tension buffering that smooths out speed differences between the entry and exit of the line, helping prevent tension variation and surface scratches caused by frequent stopping and starting. PLC control manages feeding, storage, discharge and loop level automatically.

How It Works

• Strip from the uncoiler is fed into the accumulator and stored in a loop
• During normal running, the loop level is monitored and maintained by the PLC
• When the coil is changed or joined, stored strip continues to feed the line
• Once the new coil is running, the accumulator refills
