Machine Overview

Model: TX6111D

The model TX6111D designates this particular type of floor-type horizontal boring and milling machine. As part of VIGERT’s reliable line of heavy-duty machine tools, this model is specifically engineered for larger workpieces, providing the capacity and stability required for both boring and milling operations on complex components.

Machining Capabilities

Dual Function: Boring and Milling

The TX6111D seamlessly combines two of the most vital machining processes:

• Boring: Perfect for enlarging pre-existing holes and producing highly accurate internal diameters. This function is commonly used in the production of engine blocks, gearbox housings, turbine casings, and structural components requiring deep and precise cavities.
• Milling: Capable of removing material with rotating cutters, the milling function allows for the machining of flat surfaces, slots, grooves, complex contours, and profiles. This capability extends the machine’s versatility beyond traditional boring applications.

Together, these operations allow the TX6111D to handle complex machining tasks in one setup, improving efficiency and reducing the need for multiple machines or repositioning.

Key Features and Technical Highlights

1. High-Precision Boring Capability

The boring head and spindle of the TX6111D are built for accuracy, ensuring tight tolerances even in deep hole machining. The design supports both horizontal and vertical boring tasks, making it suitable for components that require multiple-axis operations.

2. Versatile Milling Operations

The machine features a powerful spindle system and precision guideways, allowing for a wide range of milling tasks from roughing to fine finishing. It can produce various surface textures and geometric shapes critical for fitting, sealing, and load-bearing applications.

3. Floor-Type Design

Being a floor-type boring and milling machine, the TX6111D is ideal for large and heavy workpieces that are not suitable for standard table-mounted machines. The machine base is anchored securely, providing maximum rigidity and vibration resistance during cutting operations.

4. Material Compatibility

The TX6111D is designed to handle a broad range of materials used in industrial applications, including:

• Steel and alloy steel
• Cast iron
• Aluminum and non-ferrous metals
• Plastics and composite materials

This makes it a go-to solution for multi-material production environments.

5. Heavy-Duty Construction

The TX6111D’s frame is constructed from high-grade cast iron and steel, offering excellent durability and long-term operational stability. The machine is capable of managing heavy workpieces in both static and dynamic conditions.

6. Large Workpiece Capacity

Its generous working envelope allows the TX6111D to accommodate oversized and unusually shaped parts. Ideal for large components such as:

• Engine casings
• Transmission housings
• Ship components
• Industrial frames and structural supports

Exact capacity and size specifications vary, but the TX6111D typically features extended travel ranges in the X, Y, and Z axes.

7. CNC Control and Automation

The machine is fitted with a computer numerical control (CNC) system for precise, programmable machining. CNC automation increases repeatability, reduces manual input, and ensures consistently high-quality outcomes. Key benefits of this feature include:

• Programmed tool paths for complex geometries
• Tool compensation and calibration
• Multi-axis simultaneous control
• Automated boring and milling sequences

This also makes the machine operator-friendly for both skilled technicians and modern automated production lines.

Applications Across Industries

The TX6111D Floor Boring and Milling Machine is used across a range of industries where performance, precision, and the ability to machine large components are essential:

• Automotive: Cylinder blocks, crankcases, and engine housings
• Aerospace: Turbine parts, structural frames, and landing gear components
• Heavy Equipment: Gear housings, hydraulic cylinder blocks, and support frames
• Energy and Utilities: Power plant equipment, wind turbine hubs, oilfield equipment
• Marine: Propulsion system parts, shipbuilding components
• General Industrial Machinery: Baseplates, machine beds, and guide rails

Its multi-process functionality allows manufacturers to reduce production time, increase productivity, and meet tight tolerances required in these sectors.
