Key Features and Benefits of the VIGERT Used Surface Grinder SGM350

Model Overview

• Model Name: VIGERT Used Surface Grinder SGM350
• The model number SGM350 represents a mid-sized grinder with robust capabilities. The "350" typically reflects the maximum grinding length or area, which makes this model ideal for medium-sized components and versatile industrial usage.

Grinding Area

• The grinding area of the SGM350 is well-suited for workpieces of moderate dimensions.
• This makes it a preferred choice for machine shops that deal with various part sizes – from small tools to medium-scale dies and molds.

Control System

• Depending on the specific configuration, the VIGERT SGM350 can be equipped with manual or semi-automatic controls.
• Some variants come with digital readouts (DROs) for added accuracy and control, allowing the operator to monitor dimensions closely and make real-time adjustments to ensure precision in every pass.
• The intuitive layout of controls ensures that even semi-skilled operators can achieve consistent results after minimal training.

Spindle Motor

• A crucial component of any grinder, the spindle motor on the SGM350 is built for consistent and reliable performance.
• Designed to handle demanding grinding jobs across different materials, the motor delivers the torque and RPM necessary to remove stock efficiently without compromising surface quality.

Table and Chuck

• This model is generally outfitted with a magnetic chuck—a standard feature in surface grinders—allowing ferrous workpieces to be held securely in place.
• This increases the safety and precision of grinding operations, reducing the risk of part slippage and enabling accurate grinding across all axes.

Grinding Wheel Specifications

• The machine supports a moderately sized grinding wheel, allowing for excellent surface coverage and compatibility with a wide range of part geometries.
• This also enables the operator to use the machine for both roughing and finishing operations, depending on the wheel type selected.

Precision and Surface Finish

• Precision is where the SGM350 shines. With tight tolerance capabilities, this machine ensures fine surface finishes, often required in high-end manufacturing and toolmaking.
• It is particularly effective when working on hardened steels, precision dies, or intricate molds, where surface uniformity and dimension control are critical.

Construction and Stability

• The machine is constructed from high-grade cast iron, ensuring excellent damping of vibration and increased stability during operation.
• This heavy-duty construction not only contributes to high-quality finishes but also extends the machine's service life, making it a long-term investment for your shop.

Safety Features

• Operator safety is a key design consideration in the SGM350. Common safety features include:
  • Wheel guards
  • Emergency stop buttons
  • Interlock mechanisms
• These features provide peace of mind during operation, minimizing the risk of accidents or equipment damage.
