About Zeman
Zeman was founded in 1965 in Scheifling, in the Austrian state of Styria, as a steel construction company. To build steel structures more efficiently, it developed its own automated machines, and it now sells those machines to other steel fabricators. The Zeman Group has grown to 20 companies with more than 700 staff across Europe, and Zeman is now part of Lincoln Electric, the US welding group.
Zeman’s main product is the Steel Beam Assembler (SBA), a robotic system that fits and welds plates, stiffeners and parts onto steel beams with little manual work. The ENSPECTOR system inspects, checks and sorts parts, using automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to move them through the shop. Zeman also builds machines for SIN beams, light, strong beams with corrugated webs, and roll forming machines for steel profiles.
Because Zeman started as a steel fabricator, its machines are designed from a fabricator’s point of view. It supplies the software to plan and run these systems, organises material logistics on site, and can deliver complete turnkey automation for a steel construction plant.
