Hydraulic and Mechanical Decoilers 500 kg–20 t | Servosteel, Istanbul, Turkey
Servosteel's Hydraulic and Mechanical Decoilers hold the coil at the head of a line and pay the strip off under controlled tension. They are offered as a mechanical series from 500 to 4,000 kg and a hydraulic series from 6 to 20 t.
The mechanical series suits light and medium coils, with a handwheel-tightened mandrel and a conical mandrel on the 3,000 and 4,000 kg models. The hydraulic series is for heavy coils and wide strip, with hydraulic mandrel expansion, braking and a motor-driven shaft. Each machine is sized to the customer's coil and line.
Key Features
- Hydraulic mandrel expansion on the heavy-duty series for fast, safe coil loading
- Optional hydraulic loading car so heavy coils reach the line without a crane
- Dancer arm or photocell control to match the decoiler to line speed automatically
- Bidirectional shaft rotation, so strip can be fed from the top or the bottom
- Brake holds back-tension so the coil cannot overrun and loosen
- Can be paired with a straightener and servo feeder, or combined into a compact line

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the hydraulic and mechanical decoilers? The mechanical series carries 500–4,000 kg coils with a handwheel-tightened mandrel, while the hydraulic series carries 6–20 t with hydraulic expansion and braking, which suits heavy coils and high line speeds.
- What capacity should I choose? Choose one step above your heaviest coil, for example a 6 t decoiler for a 5 t coil or a 10 t decoiler for an 8 t coil, checked against coil width and inner diameter.
- When is a loading car needed? A hydraulic loading car aligns the coil and seats it on the mandrel, and it is recommended as standard above 6 t.
- What should I send for a quotation? Send your coil weight, coil width and inner and outer diameters, material, line or press speed, and the level of automation you need, such as a loading car, brake or bidirectional operation.
