Packway's Lifting Radial Axial Strapping Machine for Steel Coils automates circumferential strapping of steel coils. A lifting platform sets the coil at the right height, and a rotating roller track turns it so straps can be applied evenly around it.

The strapping head works around the coil's centreline. It tightens the steel strap, locks the joint by welding or pressing, and cuts off the excess. The coil then rotates to a preset angle and the cycle repeats, giving evenly spaced bands, for example 4 or 6 straps around the circumference.
