EZHONG's ship plate bending machines are heavy-duty three-roll machines built for shipyards, handling extra-wide plate up to 21 m across with bending forces from 1,000 to 2,200 tonnes. Developed using technology EZHONG introduced from the British Smith design, they combine two functions in one: continuous rolling for curved hull plates, and press bending for sharp shapes such as corrugated hatch covers and 90° bends. Multiple rows of backup rollers above and below the working rolls, plus hydraulic deflection compensation, keep even the widest plates straight and accurate along their full length.

How It Works

• Three-roll symmetrical design, with the upper roll moving vertically between the two lower rolls under hydraulic power
• The two lower rolls are driven through reducers and provide the rolling torque
• Multiple sets of adjustable backup rollers support the lower rolls from underneath
• A rigid beam sits above the upper roll, with further backup rollers between the beam and roll
• This fully supported design keeps the rolls rigid across very wide plates
