Fagor Arrasate was founded in 1957 in Arrasate-Mondragón, in the Basque Country of northern Spain. It's a founding member of the Mondragon Corporation, one of the world's largest groups of worker-owned cooperatives, which brings together more than 260 companies and over 80,000 people. That cooperative model is unusual among machine builders and shapes Fagor Arrasate's long-term, engineering-led approach.

The company works across the full sheet metal process. On the press side, it builds mechanical and hydraulic presses from 6,300 kN up to 120,000 kN, and press hardening systems used by the automotive industry to hot-stamp ultra-high-strength steel safety parts. On the coil processing side, it makes slitting lines, cut-to-length lines and blanking lines, including laser blanking. These handle an exceptional range of material: coil up to 2,650 mm wide and 50 tonnes in weight, and thicknesses from 0.05 mm foil up to 30 mm plate. It also offers roll forming and bending systems, automation and composites equipment.
