Yeh Chiun Industrial was founded in 1984 in Taichung, the heart of Taiwan's machine tool industry. It began developing NC hydraulic press brakes in 1987 and has built them since 1988. CNC 3-axis development followed in 1989, 4-axis press brakes in 1992, and hydraulic shears in 1994.

The company has a long record of certification. It gained CE marking in 1998 and upgraded to ISO 9001 in 2002. In 2011 it became the first Taiwanese company to pass the country's TS safety certification for power machinery. It began developing CNC AC servo precision press brakes in 2004, worked with US fastener specialist Penn Engineering from 2006, started Industry 4.0 development in 2014, and in 2023 began joint R&D on automated hot-press machines.

Today's range centres on press brakes: AC servo models for precise, energy-efficient bending, and NC and CNC multi-axis hydraulic models.
