Kinte describes itself as a wholly owned subsidiary of a larger group it calls CEI, combining research, development, manufacturing, sales, and service. Its main business is general contracting for household and similar electrical appliance plants, exporting equipment and laboratory systems for manufacturing household appliances, and mould development and manufacturing. It also supplies motor manufacturing equipment and complete assembly lines for refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, televisions, motorcycles, and cars.

Alongside these complete plants, Kinte offers a number of stand-alone metalworking machines, which are the ones relevant here.
