About Kitamura Machinery
Kitamura Machinery Co., Ltd. is a Japanese maker of CNC machining centres, based in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. Genji Kitamura founded the company in 1933 as Kitamura Iron Works. It grew from making paper machinery parts into a leading Japanese builder of planers and plano-millers, and launched its first vertical machining centres in the 1970s.
Today Kitamura builds horizontal, vertical, 5-axis and double-column machining centres. Its Mycenter-HX horizontals range from the compact HX250iG to the large HX1250G. The Bridgecenter double-column machines are aimed at mould and die work. In 5-axis, it makes the Mytrunnion and MedCenter5AX vertical machines and the Supercell horizontal cells, building on the Supercell-300, which Kitamura calls the first automated 5-axis machining centre of its kind.
Kitamura designs its own Arumatik-Mi CNC control, built to make programming and setup easier, with software upgrades for the life of the control. Modular pallet and tool automation can be added at the factory or later in the field. The company says it has 35,000 machines installed worldwide. It supports customers through offices in Japan, the USA, Germany, China and Singapore and a network of dealers.
